Why Inherit Adam’s Problems & Not Solomon’s Wealth?

Adam, the first man, walked with God in Eden’s perfection (Genesis 2:7). Tasked to multiply and steward the earth (Genesis 1:28), he and Eve had one rule: don’t eat from the forbidden tree (Genesis 2:16-17). But they did (Genesis 3:6). The result? Sin entered, bringing pain, toil, and separation from God (Genesis 3:17-19).

Adam’s choice rippled forward—through you, me, everyone (Romans 5:12). His disobedience wasn’t just a moment; it was a fracture against an eternal God, shaping humanity’s struggles. Fair or not, we inherit the consequences—like kids facing their parents’ debts. But here’s the twist: God didn’t abandon us. He promised a way out, a Redeemer to break the cycle.

Ever scroll the internet in 2025 and feel everyone’s got Solomon’s wealth—fancy cars, perfect lives—while you’re stuck with Adam’s problems? Deadlines pile up, debt looms, and comparison stings.

Like Adam’s sin, we inherit struggles: parents’ habits, societal pressures, or our own bad calls. Maybe your family’s known for chaos, and you’re proving you’re different. Sound familiar? Solomon, though, shows another path.

He inherited David’s messy legacy but chose wisdom over wealth (1 Kings 3:9). His riches followed, but even those faded (Ecclesiastes 2:8-11). The real treasure? Knowing God’s peace, not chasing fleeting gold.

Today, you might face consequences of others’ actions—fair or not. But you’re not doomed. You can rewrite the story. Pause the scroll, breathe, and ask: What’s weighing me down? God offers freedom from inherited burdens, not a bigger bank account. Like Solomon, choose clarity over chaos. What’s one step you can take today to break free?

Lets Talk About You

Forget rules. Pause, breathe, talk to God about your burdens—Adam’s sin, your stress, or that social media post sparking envy. He’s here to lift what’s not yours. Try this: grab a notebook, write one inherited struggle (e.g., fear, doubt). Ask God to replace it with His peace. Solomon sought wisdom, and God delivered (1 Kings 3:12). You’re not stuck—Jesus broke sin’s curse (Romans 5:18). Claim that freedom. Use the prompt below to start journaling today. God’s ready to rewrite your story.
